ok so back in october 2008 i filled out my application for hyde park, we were approved and put down a 250$ holding fee that was to be taken off our first months rent. we were initially getting a 2 bedroom, and by december/january we were only in need of a one bedroom. I emailed the lady who had been helping me and got no response finally i came to the office to talk to her and was told she doesnt work here anymore. would have been nice to know, or to be contacted by someone else who would be handling my lease. we were suppose to move in feb 28th on a saturday because the office was closed on the first, on the 27th they were nice enough to call me and tell me that my upgraded apartment did not get a final inspection and we were unable to move in. i had a bed being delivered and moving trucks and they tell me the day before i cant move in! then they decided i could move my stuff in but i physically could not stay here until the inspection (which they didnt know when it was going to happen) thankfully i moved my stuff in and stayed at my parents, and inspection was done on tuesday. i called maintenance once for a fire from my electric stove, they came out and fixed it no problem. then there was an incident where i thought my fridge wasnt working and i called 24hour emergency maintenance, 24 hour my ass. the guy told me to go buy coolers and ice for all of my food because he could not get a new fridge at 11pm, however i was not asking for a new fridge just for it to be looked it. i was being undercharged for my rent because of their stupid billing department and they had the nerve to blame me! i have a 1 bedroom so its not too loud, occasional loud music usually on weekends or during the day so since its not late at night i dont complain. downstairs neighbor has a dog who loves to bark her head off loud in the morning but what do you expect i guess' my "security" door is always broken and needs to be slammed shut.the lights out front on the porch have been out since i moved in. i usually dont have a problem finding parking. there usually is a group of young children walking around and when i say young i mean no older then 10. i havent had anything thrown at my windows or my car and i havent felt unsafe even when im home alone. if it werent for my upgraded unit i feel like my apartment would look like ---- inside. i can honestly say i am not staying here for another year my lease is up in 8months and i have already been checking other places out. theres good and bad everywhere though i guess. but this place is just ridiculous. im also suppose to have an upgraded bathroom for my 790 rent however i do not, but since my whole kitchen is new i decided not to ----- to the office about it.
