To live or Not to live...

Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, I just renewed for my second year here. I am moving to a one bedroom instead of the 2 bedroom that I have now. After reading the reviews, I am a little frightened to be living in the back, alone, where my new apt is.
Building L, which I am currently in, has all the problems described by others. NOT ENOUGH f'in parking becuase we're too busy playing parking garage for shi*tty cars that dont move.
Our fire alarm for our building has went off numerous times in the middle of the night for hours on end, which made me think I was the only one who could hear it, so finally I had to call the police to come out. It's nice to know if it had been a real fire that me and all my belongings would be incinerated.
Potholes are a major problem for the entire parking lot and are not timely fixed. Your whole car has to completely fit in the pothole before they consider fixing it.
Oh, and its funny how you have Jekyll and Hyde in the front or back' office. When you come to lease the staff is extremely friendly and tell you how great this place is, and then give it a month after move in and they are ignorant and could careless about your problems. Maintenence is in no way timely about anything, they are too busy playing with their cars in the maintenence building or huddling around playing patty cake.
Yes, rude neighbors are expected in any complex so thats too be expected. However, and this isn't FountainView's fault, people have become a new breed of rude. There is lack of respect for adults by most of the children here, so you can only imagine their parents.
As much as things seem bad, I don't think it's as terribly bad as some reviews. I agree with most comments, but you do get what you pay for.

Hello all. Can someone please explain what the front is and the back and the various buildings and such? I know someone who lives in ? building right across from wawa and thinks it is a bargain for the price and has never had any problems. Thank you for any all responses.

I have lived in the complex for about seven years. I read many of the reviews, but to be honest, I cannot understand some of what people say. Yes, there is a greater police presence than there was when I first moved in. But, I think it's not so bad when you mind your business. If your in everyone else's business, then you'll invite problems. I come and go and that is it, and interact with only a couple of my longer term neighbors. My life is quiet in my building and no one bothers me. Maintenance is slow on occasion, but I make sure to communicate diretly with one person and ensure that the lines of communication are open. Communication is a skill. If you (the tenant) do not know how to communicate in a respectful, non-threatening or demanding manner, then you are likely to get your needs met. Bill Moffett who is the manager is very responsive to my needs. Yes, I have had my share of certain people not responding to me, but when I call Bill or notify the main office things get moving. As of late, things have gotten better and I just think it's not so much of "what you say" as much as "How you say it". Those who think it's the ghetto then move. You know, if your want to ----- and complain and do nothing to improve your einvironment then you have no room to complain. If crime is an issue, then start a neighborhood watch or something. There are things you can do to fix this. We're adults. Youre either part of the problem or part of the soluttion. wanna do something, email me at stk30040@loki.stockton.edu. But, don't write me to ----- and complain. I got my own problems. I think management is well aware of the different "breed" of people we're getting, but business is business and their job is to make money. Maybe we can come up with some ideas to make it a better place and prseent it to managemnt, but in a respectful manner. Your gehetto personalities don't help any. Thanks |
