I really liked living here for a year in 2001.

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
What I didn't like first:
My biggest complaint was that the hot water in the shower never stayed constant. I don't know if several units share one hotwater heater or not, but the temperature would fluctuate from near scalding to freezing. I eventually just got used to it.
Parking lots surrounded the buildings, but if you got home late at night, which I frequently did, you would have to park way in the back of a lot, or make your own parking spot on a patch of grass. If I got home early enough, I could practically park at my front or back door.
The buildings ARE reletively old (balconies are wooden, and somewhat rotting looking), but over-all I really liked them anyway.
One washer and dryer for six units to share isn't really enough, especially when you are not given a key to get inside the other units to use theirs.
What I loved:
Interesting floorplans. Ground floor deluxe versions have cute little wood stoves. I turned that model down though, the stove was sort of in an awkward place, and I knew I'd never use it. Origianlly, I had wanted a two-bedroom model, but the only one available was on the ground floor with the stove. They told me the only thing they had available off the ground floor (which is really below ground on the front side), was a one bedroom "deluxe", but it had a view of the lake.
I'm really glad that I decided to keep and open mind and take a look at the one-bedroom.
Instead of the kitchen with breakfast bar that most of the other units had, this one had an island for the kitchen sink with a large couner that faced the lake. All units have very large windows, which span the entire wall of living room and dining room, making for a very scenic view.
I had two large walk-in closets, plus a bathroom linen closest, and storage bin in the laundry room. My balcony faced the lake and had steps leading down to the back parking lot, plus was huge, and shaded by a big tree. It was also nice to have a front and rear entrance.
I never needed to call maintenace. I enjoyed the free pool in the summer, and the walking trails all year round. My dog was very happy there, and even though I did receive one complaint from management about him peeing on the balcony (it dripped onto the people's below and they complained), all I received was a warning letter.
I had a nicely patterned, nearly new WHITE berber-style rug in the living room, and parquet-style wood floors in the dining room.
They DO require you to show proof of having the rugs professionally cleaned, or they deduct $45 from your security deposit. They will also deduct $10 here or there for things like blinds or ovens left dirty, but they give you a letter before you move out, warning you of this. I felt their carpet fee was quite resonable for only 2 carpeted rooms, and I got the rest of my deposit back with no problems.
All, in all, I would recommend living here, and wish there was a complex like it where I live now.
