Management has refused any contact with me.Not by phone, mail and auto tapes.
For the past 5 months I have had to live with a large yellow crested bird. The sounds vibrate in my apt.The screaches and squacks should not have to be tolerated by any tenant. Lakeview must have a policy which states BIRDS BEFORE TENANTS.

I had a problem with pigeons nesting on the roof of the entrance door to the apartment building and bird drippings was everywhere, you literally had to watch where you stepped in order not to track the mess into your apartment, after calling the Health Department making a complaint and investigators investigated the complaint, the issue was resolved. The Health Department will give Lakeview x amount of days to get the problem resolved or they will be fined by the day. My recommendation is to call Camden County Health Department at 856-374-6600 and report the problem and they will send an investigator out and believe me the issue will be resolved. I have lived in Lakeview for almost 5 years and I must say it has gone to the dogs. During the summer the kids are everywhere, no parental supervision and they just hang out in and everywhere literally then when the kids return to school it's the neighbors, drinking, litering everywhere, and having sex in the laundry rooms of the buildings. It has become the hood and the ghetto at Lakeview and it's getting worse all the time. I will be moving when my lease is up, hopefully get as far away from Lakeview as possible. It has become miserable living here.

Lakeview's new policy seems to be to ignore tenants. Send a certified letter advising them they have 30 days to fix the problem, or you will be witholding rent. If they start evicition proceedings, make sure you have the money in an acct. That will be the 1st question that the judge will ask. Explain that your defense is a breach of the implied warranty of habitability. Show proof of the letter you wrote as well as the fact the money is in the acct. I think this apprach is much better, the Health Dept is not really good at enforcing any code violations, and they ALWAYS give management a chance to fix the problem. It will get fixed, but will be a crappy job. I have had more luck with withholding rent.

Ha ha that stinks, that bird was cool. Lakeview probably paid to have it for atmosphere. But you are right, birds before tenants. You can even walk through some of the between building walkways because they are FILLED with pigeon poop, as well as many of the fire escape/ back door stairs.
