I am completely irritated with Lakeview. I moved in February of 08. I gave my 30 days notice January 30th of this year, stating that I would be moving out the end of February (I'm actually moving out TOMORROW. CAN'T WAIT!!) Anywho, I park my car today and I walk up to my door and there's a notice stating "Lakeview Apartments vs. **********" They are taking me to court, because I refuse to pay this last months rent. That is what the $850 security deposit I gave was for. This is absolutely absurd. I've had problems one after another in this place. The pilot light in my oven has been out since JUNE OF LAST YEAR (I CAN'T COOK) They came and fixed it, and it went right back out again. Everything is too old. My balcony' It's not new, it's probably from the late 60's. The wood is rotted, I can't go out there - can't take my niece out there to sit. I've got birds and squirrels and whatever else is living on top of my apartment (I live on the 3rd floor) I've got mold, and the garbage disposal never works. I've called maintenance twice a week since November now to come fix everything, and they have not. Not even a word back from them. There are only one or two staff members at the leasing office who aren't incompetent, ignorant fools.
Overall - I would NEVER, EVER move here again and I would never suggest it to my own worst enemy. It's not a safe place to live, despite what they say. You can hear everything in the apartments above/below you. When someone is using the shower downstairs/upstairs - I hope you've got the time to wait, because your water WILL be cold. DO NOT MOVE INTO LAKEVIEW APARTMENTS. Do yourself a favor, and pay the extra cash for a much better, sounder, safer environment, especially if you have children. Unless you don't mind them mingling with the dozens of drug lords running around the complexes.

I got the same crap about rent and security deposit having to be completely seperate when I moved out. Oh and my stove lit but the smoke detector went off everytime I used the oven. They kept saying it was because it was a new oven, even after I had been living there for 3 years.

Do you guys even know what a security deposit is for? It's not for your last month's rent, it's so if you damage the apartment they have money set aside, from you, to fix it. This is why you get your deposit back at the end of your stay, and you don't usually get it back until after you've moved out. I've lived here for almost 6 months and have had no problems with the complex. Then again, I actually know a little bit about renting. Did either of you actually ever go down to the office or the maintenance department itself to get them to fix things? Or write up complaints? They've come out within a day or two to fix things for me. Guess I can't say I'm sorry people like you have moved out of here.
