There are better places out there...

This place seemed like a great place when my fiance and I were looking for an apartment. She worked in Wilmington, DE and I worked in Mt. Laurel, NJ, so it was a pretty decent compromise, being close to Rts. 42 & 295 as well as the NJ Turnpike. There are plenty of shopping, restaurants, etc. around too, so that is also a convienence.
There are other problems...parking can be a nightmare, especially towards the back of the complex. People have no regard for "no parking zones" or for parking within given parking lines. Be careful pulling around some corners because you may find a parked car in the middle of the lane or parked along a tight corner!
Also be careful of the building you are looking into. There are 4 or 5 different apartment models, and 25(') different buildings -- each building houses a single type of apartment. There is only one building with 2 bdrm aparments & a washer & dryer, and there is a waiting list to get into this building. Also, the older buildings are towards the back, so take a look at a map and see where your building is located -- the further back into the complex, the older your building will be.
Our building was at least 30 years old...and it looked its age! The entire apartment had a lean towards the front of the building, there wasn't a single level or even floor in the place (all our furniture had varying numbers of rubber feet and cardboard pieces to somewhat level them!). The walls looked as if they were cracking and falling in around the interior and central wall of the building -- almost like there isn't enough structural support for the roof. The air conditioners (2 wall units) were large and old and worked fairly well -- although PSE&G loves us since our bills were quite hefty.
There was a thermostat but it really didn't make a bit of difference since the apartment was always between 78 and 90 degrees...we had window fans blowing cold air in throughout the winter!
Having hot water in the morning was hit or miss for a few months last winter, and even for a few months this past fall during those cold weeks. Of course, getting service at 7:30 in the morning was impossible from the "emergency maintenance" ("We've called a plumber to come and look into the problem. We have no more information for you at this time.").
