The layout of my one-bedroom apartment is very nice (high ceilings, spacious), however, the fixtures are very cheap and fall apart easily. The bathroom tile was painted over instead of being properly glazed, so it started peeling soon after I moved in (8 years ago) and is embarrassing when guests use our shower. I have asked repeatedly over the years to have it fixed, but nothing is ever done. The kitchen cabinets are the cheapest particle board money can buy, and started bowing after the first year. I asked to have them replaced and was told that it was my fault because I "put too much in them" and would have to pay half (even though the broken/bowed part was the front panel, not a weight-bearing part of the cabinet).

When I moved in, heat/water were included and we only had to pay electric and gas. A month ago, they removed all the radiators (leaving decades-old decayed wall and flooring beneath that has not been cleaned or refinished). A memo was posted saying that they are switching to "more efficient electric heat" in the form of air conditioner/heaters in the wall. I verified with the Super that this will be on our own circuit and will go on our electric bill. This was done without any choice or concern that our lease states that heat is included.

Parking is about $95 for a covered space. My car was stolen twice. Finally, they installed a gate, but a non-motorized one that most of the tenants leave open because they are too lazy to get out of their car when leaving to manually close and lock it.
