Today I was informed that the offending person has been let go from his position, so I am changing my rating to THIS A GREAT PLACE TO RENT!! They wide open spaces between building is a great place for kids to play and it is nice peaceful environment to live.

NEW LETTER BELOW:
To whom it concerns,
I commend you for your decision to relieve Steve of his position as Supper of your apartments. He has treated many people including myself with great DISRESPECT and then demanded that we respect him. I was going to send a not so happy letter to your company, but since your decision to let him go, I have NOTHING but many good things to say about your apartments and many good things about your other Maintenance people. I feel you have a great thing going here, even though I am still moving out. I retract my original plans to turn people away from your apartments. Keep up the great work!!!

Sincerely,

Mark and family.

P.S. Feel free to post this letter on any websites to make sure future tenants know that you don t stand for any employee to disrespect your customers.

OLD LETTER BELOW:
To whom it may concern,

I would like to say that you have a great team of Maintenance guys at the Rydel/Southgate apartments. I've never in 2 years had a problem with them coming in to our apartment and fixing numerous leaky pipes in the walls, upgrading the fixtures in the shower, fixing the electrical outlets, even installing the new windows. The only problem I have now is that Steve, I am guessing the newest super attendant, seems to think that he can take my personal property without asking if it is mine or if it belongs to the people that moved out, he doesn't know if he doesn't ask. During the week of April 7th - 11th 2008, maintenance was doing repairs on the apartment 21A and I noticed some problems. I called and left 2 voice messages with maintenance to let them know of the problems and if they can come first thing in the morning to fix the problems. He proceeded to tell me on Saturday morning April 12th that I need to speak to him with respect. I understand and do treat all people with due respect even when they don't deserve it, but I draw the line when people proceed to:

1. Continue to make loud noise down stairs at 9:00 pm during the week, and my wife had to go downstairs and ask them to stop for the night because she and our 13 year old son have to get up early to go to school and work.

2. Start using "Klean Strip (Alcohol) & Dura seal Polyurethane, in the evening when my wife and son are getting ready to sleep. They did not warn us ahead of time so we could make the proper arrangements to NOT be here for a day or 2 if necessary. When I was 18 years old I cleaned apartments just like these and we never used TOXIC materials to clean the floors. They used so much polyurethane that the fumes could have caused health issues for my son, who has asthma, to get worse. They should have warned us at least 24 hours in advance and started doing it at 7am NOT 7pm, that might have allowed for the fumes to not be so bad the second night that I called. I work a night shift and get home at 2am and the fumes were so strong I could not sleep at all. This is probably half the reason why I see an ambulance at the apartments more frequently than any other apartments that I have lived in.

3. They removed a rug that we had in front of my door inside the foyer. I understand that they had to remove it to put new tiles over the old ones, but when they were done they could have put the rug back or asked me if it was mine, they could have asked me to bring it inside my apartment, or they could have just asked me to get rid of it. They did not do any of these things, they just put it in the old stove from the downstairs apartment which was going to be put in the garbage. He told me on Saturday April 12th 2008 that he didn't want that crappy rug to be on his newly tiled floor, claiming that it might cause a fire, yet when you had the official inspector come to check the place the only complaints he had was about the closet doors and the bulge in the wall along the steps in the apartment, which both were fixed. NO mention of ANY fire hazards, by your official inspector.

4. He then proceeded on Saturday April 12th 2008 to threaten to beat me up if I ever called and demanded that they come open the windows or do something to deal with the fumes, or if I demanded my personal property to be returned. I can be a little demanding at times, and make mistakes, but I do my best to fix those mistakes. I really don't appreciate his ignorance to common courtesy or customer service, but for him to threaten me is totally illegal.

I apologize for being a little demanding in my requests for him to fix his MISTAKES, but his approach Saturday morning was neither PROFESSIONAL nor LEGAL. If Steve wants me to respect him, then he needs earn my respect, by apologizing for his mistakes and threat. He needs to realize that this is a business and that PROFESSIONALISM and GOOD COMMUNICATION with your customers is the most important thing in any business. I deal with angry customers and never have threatened to beat them up. I forgive him for NOT APOLOGIZING or never being professional in his approach to dealing with mistakes that he let happen. BUT I WILL FOREVER STEER NEW CUSTOMERS AWAY FROM YOUR APARTMENTS AS LONG AS HE IS NOT PUNISHED FOR THIS BEHAVIOR. No one in these apartments should ever be the subject of such ignorance and then be told to respect him for it.

Sincerely,

Mark
