My husband and I rented one of the 1 bedroom "townhouses" in the complex for 2.5 years and it was literally one nightmare after the next. When we were showed an apartment it was a "model" and we were told that our place would be identicle. It wasn't even close, but we'd already signed a lease.

One month after moving in, trouble with the bathroom pipes meant they had to break a hole through our shower wall to repair the pipes. They kept telling us it would be repaired. For 2.5 years I staired at the whole patched with a black garbage bag and duct tape in my shower.

Within a few months of moving in black mold was growing on some of the walls and no matter how many times I washed them down with bleach it just came back. A leak in the laundry room due to one of the furnaces caused our basement to fill with water. We told them when we first noticed the drip. They checked it out and said they would be by to fix it. No one ever came. The carpet slowly got wetter and wetter. We reminded them almost every day of the problem. When the entire basement was filled with 1 inch of water ON TOP of the carpeting we threatened to call the NJ housing board or whoever and finally they came to fix the leak and clean up the water.

One of the basement rooms became so covered in black mold we closed off the room and wouldn't even go in it. My husband and I were both sick constantly with sinus infections and random illnesses which all stopped once we left that place.

I could go on for days about the terrible living conditions. Between the cops constantly coming around to arrest neighbors, the crack addicted woman who would pace the one hall at 2am, the cross-eyed handiman who marked the studs before hanging our medicine cabinet but failed to hit the stud with any nail causing it to fall from the wall, the uneven flooring, the inadequate parking, and of course the lovely insect problem.
