1st of all, I am not a coward who will keep this anonymous.
My name is Angela and I have lived in Butler Ridge for nine years now.
I must agree that Maintenance is lacking a little in that department.
But the Manager has absolutely nothing to do with it.
She may be their boss but they are not a reflection on how she handles business.
You can only boss your crappy employees around for so long.
Daisy, in my experience, has been nothing but sweet.
I actually feel sorry for her for having to deal with people like you.
I'm sure you probably have dealt with at least someone as rude as yourself so cut the Manager some slack.
Again, it isn't her fault that your precious apartment didn't get done.
Last time I checked, Superintendent wasn't her title.
And as for her gossiping; there is a little busy-body around here who does nothing but talk about everyone's personal life.
This woman shall remain nameless, and I have had confrontations with her myself.
Was it Daisy the Mananger? No it wasn't.
She and I were raised the same way: you treat me with respect, I treat you with respect.
I'm guessing you weren't so pleasant to deal with.
I give her credit for putting up with people like you because I know that I wouldn't have been so professional.
It's really sad that you took time out to write this little review and criticize her the way you did.
Maybe you're just bored with your life and needed to invent some things to make yourself feel better.
That's why I feel sorry for you but hey whatever makes you sleep at night right?
Anyway, I do think that Butler Ridge needs a little work, it was built in 1972, but the neighbors are nice and look out for my husband and I.
I always have a parking when I come home from work.
Whenever I ask for a work order it gets done the next day, and not in 6 months.
The Management is superb.
And the laundromat may be small but I'm glad that here, it's private; makes me feel safer.
As for Kinnelon Ridge, STAY AWAY.
The two women up there are absolutely rude.
I don't think I've ever dealt with more rude people in my life.
They are even rude on the phone.
They don't treat you well unless you are a person of wealth or someone they know.
Their work orders don't get done until about a year later and for the value of the apartments, the rent is beyond expensive.
You're better off with Butler Ridge, money, safety, and hospitality-wise.

I lived in Butler Ridge for 8 1/2 years and I am shocked by this reviewer's comments. I left Butler Ridge because of the outdated aparments, no laundry facilities in-unit, no dishwasher, lack of snow shoveling and slow repairs. I am a parent of a 4 year old and an infant and I found it dangerous to carry my baby on the icy and snow covered paths in Butler Ridge.
I do realize that you get what you pay for. I moved into Kinnelon Ridge and have an apartment that is 4 years old and in perfect condition. I have a washer/dryer and dishwasher in my apartment and the complex is extremely well lit. I have large rooms, 2 bathrooms and central air/heat. I have a gym at my disposal in the clubhouse and the snow is shoveled immediately. I understand that the increased rent allows for these benefits and I am very glad I made the move. I have found the office staff of Kinnelon Ridge to be exceptional. They didn't know me prior to my contacting their office and they have always treated me with professionalism and respect. As for workorders, I called for an non-emergency issue and it was addressed in less than 2 hours.
I think it is terrible that a reviewer would bash another reviewer for stating their personal opinion in a review. Isn't that what a review is, after all? Anyway, Butler Ridge was good for me for several years, but now with little children I was ready to move onto a bigger and better home. As for Kinnelon Ridge, I have nothing but positive things to say about the office staff and the groundskeeping.
Daisy at the Butler Ridge office was very helpful to me in getting my security deposit back after the Butler Ridge L.L.C. (located in Short Hills, NJ) failed to return my security deposit within the alloted 30 days after mistakenly thinking I broke my lease. Because I moved into Kinnelon Ridge (which happen to have the same owner as Butler Ridge) it was not considered a lease-break. Daisy called on my behalf and I did receive my check a few days later. Just today I received a notice from Butler Ridge LLC telling my that they have terminated my lease because I didn't return my new lease and that I have 30 days to move out or legal action would be taken. Since I moved out in November(more than two months ago), I found this amusing. Apparantly there is a lack of communication on the part of the Short Hills office. First they didn't return my security deposit and then this letter? Not very good for a business. I do believe that the office staff of Butler Ridge has to deal with backlash due to mistakes made by their corporate office. Also, I never had or saw rodents or bugs in my nearly 9 years at Butler Ridge as other reviewers have complained about. The biggest complaint about the apartments for me is the fact that smoke travels through the ductwork and that my apartment smelled of smoke after a smoker moved in beneath me.

Ignoring all the other ridiculous misinformation in the above review, it should be made clear that Kinnelon Ridge is an amazing, gorgeous complex and the office staff are nothing but courteous, professional, kind, helpful, and sincere. They have gone out of their way to help me and make me feel at home numerous times and are always in their office when they're supposed to be. I'm so happy at this complex.

I will definitely agree that as long as you treat Daisy with Respect, she will back. She's not one to take crap, and if I were in her shoes, I wouldn't either.
However I strongly disagree with them fixing things right away. Certain things, yes. But there's a noisy fan that's probably getting close to exploding in my bathroom and sidewalk lighting that's been broken for 6 months that I've called in more than 3 times about regarding safety, and it apparently isn't a concern. I don't want to have to go this route, but I may have to do it the official way and send a certified letter explaining this again in writing, give them 30 days to fix it, then send another notice notifying them that I'm breaking my lease due to unhanded maintenance problems involving safety that have gone unresolved for too long. Especially since I get home late and without adequate lighting and random people hanging out in their cars late at night...I don't feel comfortable walking in the dark.

For everyone's information, the 11/17 response, as well as several others, were posted by either the property manager herself (Daisy)or her daughter who works in the Short Hills office. It is appalling how we are spoken of by them. And that comment about "treating Daisy with respect," well, if you've ever been in her presence you would hear her talk about her super and his wife and whoever else is on her wrong side that day. This column is for renter's to express their experiences while living in Butler Ridge or Butler Arms. We have the right to do this. If Daisy and her family are going to post their own trash, then they should be signing their name to it instead of being anonymous cowards as they call us. It seems to me that she is the one who has caused so much aggravation and unprofessionalism that SHE should move the hell out and let US live in peace. As far as the tenants here, I have only good things to say about them. Obviously Daisy needs a career change because she is not a professional speaker or worker.

The leases are 1 year, each year. If you need to leave half way thru, the low life management will charge you for each month remaining. Try to take them to court..the lease is iron clad..you pay for their attorney fees and the rent. Come here and you will feel helpless. Ask for a new appliance..you will be ignored. Could be so much better. 1 bedroom is $975 not the bait and swirch low ball in the ad (2010)
