Be wary of this place!

I'm not one to typically write reviews/complaints about places, but I'm so sick and tired of living here, I just have to do it so that people know what they're getting themselves into. I moved here in the summer two years ago and can't wait till my lease is up so I can move out. Here's what you should know:
- Management/super: The super is one of the rudest people you'll ever encounter in your life. He personally threatened me one evening when I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment and rang his doorbell to get him to unlock my door. He shouted at me for a good 10 mins about how it wasn't an emergency, how I shouldn't be ringing his bell, how I'm never to bother him again, and finally threatened personal injury on me if I ever did it again. The guy is borderline crazy and doesn't do anything.
- Smells: I hardly cook in my apartment, yet every night my bathroom and entire apartment smell like bacon/meatloaf/etc. from neighbors cooking everything under the sun. Ventilation is horrible and not only do the hallways smell, your apartment will too from your neighbors.
- Parking: Good luck finding parking if you try after 11 pm. Luckily you can park on the street and call Caldwell police to tell them your building doesn't have parking and they won't ticket you. Your guests won't be as lucky though -- they'll be ticketed. The lot has a ton of pot holes.
- Winter: They don't plow till it gets to be above like 4" and the people here seriously do not know how to park.
- Elevators: Add 5-10 mins into your schedule to wait on an elevator. You're lucky if both of the elevators are working on any given day. They don't have a cargo elevator, so if you have a big screen TV (DLP) or large couch, have fun hauling it up the stairs.
- Safety: I think everyone knows by now the universal code to get into the building. There's pretty much nothing stopping someone from getting into the building. Caldwell's a pretty quiet area though, so it doesn't concern me much.
- Other residents: Lot of old people, some rude people.
- Area: 3 mins to grocery store (ghetto Shop Rite, expensive Kings), Taco Bell, Wendys, Chipotle, Burger King, etc. Make sure you follow the speed limit (25/35), cops here hide everywhere to catch people.
- Rent: The relatively cheaper rent is the only reason I've stayed here as long as I have. All utilities are included (except electric) and the heat/A/C are not run off an electric unit so feel free to cook all the pizza you want while having the A/C on full blast and the windows open in the bedroom for some fresh air while you take a loong shower. Building is hooked up w/FiOS, so it's another perk. Rent increased about $75 from yr. 1 to 2.
- Cleanliness: No bugs at all. My shower drain gets slow every month it seems, but the one maintenance dude is ok and takes care of it w/o any real problems. Garbage refuse room smells/looks nasty. Elevators always smell of wet dogs or something similar. Hallways smell. Kitchen appliances are pretty new. Cabinets are 30 yrs old. Carpets in apartments are replaced for the most part when you move in.

We were thinking about renting in this building, and now you've given us doubts. Can you email me at njcrash@opensight.net?
