First, I am not an NJ'sian or Philadelphian; I am NYer so I assure you my review is impartial. Yeah ok so it??s Camden: It was the #1 crime-infested city in the country for years; now it's #5 (Way to go St. Louis!). I have lived at the Victor since May 06. The Victor is a beautiful apartment complex. The amenities beat out most compared to other apt. buildings I looked into in Philly. Yes the walls are thin and if you listen hard enough you can hear your neighbors breathing. But let's be real people, you live in an APARTMENT COMPLEX! If you want absolute quiet, buy an acre or two of land in a remote area and reside there. Granted the noise level at times can be a bit much (i.e. frat-like parties, or those having loud convos on their patios), but a quick call to concierge or even the property manager works (trust me I've had to call a couple of times because of a VERY noisy neighbor; not the "noctural" one described in one of reviews; I like that couple (lol)). Re: parking, my guests (I don't drive) have NEVER had an issue with parking. If you plan ahead you will ALWAYS get a guest. If you wait the day of, guess what, there will not be any parking. Re: the on-site personnel and management; I personally have not had an issue so I cannot honestly speak on how they treat all tenants. However, politeness goes a long way. If you speak to people with respect, you will get it in return. I have overheard the tones of some tenants speaking to the staff, and quite frankly I wouldn't do didly-squat to help either. BTW, Lamar is the absolute best. Bill (the more personable one) is running a close second. You also can't beat the convenience to Philly. I was commuting from King of Prussia and it was a nightmare most of the time (Just a side note, Philly's SEPTA sucks; I will never complain about NY transit again). Being able to walk or ride your bike right over the bridge is awesome. I do wish, however, that certain elements (I am NOT speaking of race, but mentality.) didn't surround the train station at times. But it is an urban city with city-based agencies in the area (i.e. court-house, PA) so again, deal or don't live in Camden. I also only found this in the morning. As another reviewers stated, the area is pretty much a ghost-town after about 6:30PM. I've come home as late as 10PM via train (yes, I did speed-walk home) but there was maybe 3 other people on the streets in the 4-block radius.

The apartments are really unique and great (well mine is anyway-I have two columns and a long halway); where are you going to get 20 foot ceilings w/ washer and dryer in the unit' Use of the media-room is a great addition for entertaining guests. The gym is so hot! (on the roof people w/newer equipment than most) And how are there complaints about a $25/month fee' You spend that much a day just commuting, eating and drinking. You can't beat the waterfront and walking distance to the concerts and aquarium. Coming from NY I was of course VERY skeptical and was even pondering moving from the Victor elsewhere. But I began to see a great deal of progress with current and future developments. It is truly a thriving area and I look forward to see where it goes. We get first-dibbs on new condos being built...that ain't bad at all.

Just a heads up in case you are having a guest park at the Victor, I was informed there is no guest parking at all anymore at the Victor. I assume you meant the planning ahead for guest parking was in reference to getting a guest pass which are not available because guest parking no longer exists. Thought this would be helpful to know, especially on a weekend when your guest would have to feed a meter from 7am to 10pm, assuming there is a street spot.

Actually just to inform, the guest parking has been implemented again. I agree with the resident writing this review, the building is great and you will not find anything for the price in CC. Who can honestly complain about guest parking being withdrwan simply to accomadate new people moving in, until an additional lot was purchased, lets be realistic. It says a lot that the owner rushed and purchased more parking. People are way to demanding.

I live in a building like this. I wish my friends would just take mass transit and stop bothering me about parking. In a place like the Victor (the RiverLINE runs right past it), parking isn't really necessary anyway.
