On the downside ... fellow tenants do not control their children, who run and scream in the hallways and parking lots during all hours of the day/night. Also, morning school buses block cars in the lot from leaving for work.

The office staff is friendly, but not very helpful. When faced with a problem, they always refer me to this one guy, who is rarely on site. Repairs are made, but not always promptly or correctly. Laundry facilities are a nightmare because people take hours to remove their stuff from machines, and management does nothing about it. They do, however, leave frequent notes by everyone's doors threatening fines for recycling misdeeds and other problems without bothering to find who's doing it, which I find insulting and unprofessional. As others have said in their reviews, the hallways often smell like garbage and the elevators are frequently out of service. There is also no service elevator for furniture. In addition, during the time we've lived here, a lot of trashy tenants have moved in around us. Since there is no assigned parking, I'm often forced to park in back of the rear building where there is very little lighting. And instead of fixing an entrance lock, management no longer allows people to enter this door from the outside, making my long, dark walk to the front even longer and darker. NOT VERY SAFE!!!

The worst part of living in The Colonials is knowing that they punish residents for loyalty by charging them much more in rent for renewed leases than they do new tenants, including some with bigger apartments. Because of this unfairness and general unhappiness here, we're moving out when our current lease ends.

On the plus side, recent renovations make the place look modern. Also, the location is great and it's easy to walk to nearby stores.
