One of the best in the area!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
My boyfriend moved here in 2006 into a 1 bedroom apartment and liked it immediately. He got a great deal on the security deposit (zero, based upon credit check) and was thrilled b/c they accept pets with a small non-refundable deposit and monthly fee of $10 (that's CHEAP in comparison to others). It's close if you're Philly commuter and is one of the safer complexes in the area (specifically those on Laurel Rd/Blackwood-Clem Rd which are GHETTO and I always see cops frequenting).
I moved in mid-2007, so we upgraded from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom apartment. What a steal! We have a FULL SIZE washer/dryer in the walk-in closet area in the master bedroom, which has tons of shelving and extra space for storage. The kitchen is small, but for 2 people it's manageable. There's a small pantry which makes up for the lack of cabinet space and we have a dishwasher. The rooms are spacious and plenty of closet space. Like another reviewer mentioned, the windows are TERRIBLE! We've had issues with them leaking during heavy downpour and when it's windy, they rattle to the point where it wakes us up. I would definitely recommend they are replaced, as I can imagine the amount of energy that is wasted in heating/cooling. It's an annoyance, but not so unpleasant that I would consider moving and/or not recommending Kingsrow to others. In fact, I recommend Kingsrow quite often!
Additional positives:
- Parking is never an issue.
- Tenants are friendly and there is a sense of community, there are often parties hosted by management with free food and activities like Easter egg hunts for the kids.
- You get one free upgrade if you renew your lease for another year as previously mentioned in another review - new blinds, carpet cleaning, new ceiling fan or tile floor.
- Free heat and cooking gas.
- Pool access with small fee.
- Large laundry facility for those who don't have w/d in their apartment.
- Friendly and attentive staff, never had an issue when a repair is needed, always had a prompt response. Staff also lives on the property, so they take care of things b/c this is their home too unlike other properties where the management company doesn't live there.
- Ability to have your own "yard" by your private enterance to relax, grill, and garden (flowers and other decorations are allowed as long as you aren't tearing up the bushes/trees that are already planted).
Overall, it's a great place to live and call home. I feel safe and I'm happy to be getting the most for my money!
