My husband and I moved into Millbridge apartments 4 years ago when it was a beautiful and pleasant place. They cut the grass just about every day and they cleaned the trash just as often. They place was actually a beautiful and wonderful place to live. Then the old owner got bought out and the new management that was in place began to go down hill. At first everyone picked up after their dogs because it was required and no one was aloud to have dogs over 20 lbs, but then after the new management it seemed that everyone forgot all the rules and started getting bigger and bigger dogs and not cleaning up after them. It seemed that everyone brought their dogs to our yard to crap too because it was one of the big grassy yards in between two buildings. NO ONE cleaned up after their dogs and my small 8 lb dog got tape worms from it. I had to get her dewormed and pad train her so she didn't have to go outside in that crap. I have also had a couple big dogs (one boxer and one rottweiler) off leash chase after me and my dog when we were outside. I had to run inside because the boxer once pounced on my small dog hurting her and I didn't want them hurting her again.
Maintenance started getting slower when you called them and seemed to only take action if you called the emergency number. We went without heat for over two weeks in the winter and no AC for just as long in the summer. It seemed every year they had to fix our heat or our AC. The kitchen flooded because of a broken pipe and when we called the emergency number it was fixed but I was promised new cabinet drawers because mine were ruined and they never came. I even called to check on them and still I didn't get them. That was two years ago!
My washer broke and we got it replaced but when my dryer broke they refused to replace it. We ended up leaving at the end of our lease because we wouldn't dare break it. Our neighbors broke their lease and they told us they lost their deposit and still had to pay every month of rent that they would have paid if they stayed in the lease until they rented out the place again. Would you believe that Millbridge didn't touch that apartment till after that lease was up so that they didn't have to rent it out until that old lease was up. What's the sense of leaving if you are going to pay for the rest of the year anyway' Might as well grin and bear it instead of paying rent in two places.
It's always noisy, the walls and floors are paper thin and the children in the area have no respect for adults. They are constantly playing basketball in the parking area even though the lease forbids it. They hit our car with the basketball when we were in it and just went to retrieve it instead of saying sorry. I yelled out the car door that I was going to call the cops but they didn't seem to care. The kids play in the street and don't move when you try to drive by. One day they will get hit because some people speed through there and one person even hit my neighbors dog and killed it because they were driving so fast.
Millbridge is unsafe and I hated our last two years there. I found beer bottles all over the place in the morning, condom wrappers on the sidewalk and even a crack bag under my bedroom window once. Millbridge is a mini Camden.
I do admit that the apartments are huge in comparison to other complexes but it's just not worth the hassle of the neighbors, the children, and the staff. I am just happy that we are finally out of there!
