Not for a long stay...

We have lived here for three years and every year seem to get worse. The worse part of living here is the MAINTENANCE department. They all have an attitude. They are very late when you call with a problem even with urgent problems like a leak in the bathroom. They are always looking to charge you for everything. These apartments are so old that things are falling apart but they do not want to pay for fixing them. They are looking to you to pay for the maintenance they should take care. So, basically you are paying rent but are not getting the service you deserve when you have trouble. They do not maintain these apartments adequately. Again, the maintenance department is the toughest. As for the rental office, they are very strict on lease rules but do not do anything to help you. When you have a problem they just point you to different people. The only work they actually do is make sure they get their rent on time. They don't care for how well your apartment is maintained or if you have a problem. They usual response is that it is not their responsibity. Another thing is that these apartments are usually extremely cold or extremly hot. They do not try to help with this either. The good thing about this place it is fairly safe (although that is becoming more questionable each day), the rent is cheap and the it is convinientto get to NYC. I would only be at this apartment for a short term stay. So if you are looking for an apartment for a family to settle in, I would OPT OUT.
