Not great, you could do worse, the rent is reasonable.

The Bad:

- The place is old, things will crack, and break. The maintenance staff does a decent enough job to try and fix things. But they are kept very busy, you will be on a first name basis with the maintenance staff.

- On at least 2 occasions I saw evidence the maintenance staff had been in my apartment without notifying me (nevermind asking for my permission). One time the proof was spent match sticks laying on the stove. They must have temporarily allowed the gas company to turn come in and turn the gas off. Okay fine, but how about letting me know '

- They have this silly policy about towing your car if your registration sticker is expired. They don?t tell you its been towed, you just walk out one morning and your car is gone (they stealthily do it late at night while you?re asleep). You report it stolen, and when the Police hear you live in Richfield Village they tell you check first if Richfield village had it towed cause that?s probably what happened, cause it happens all the time. BTW it will cost you $200 35/per day storage to get your car back if its towed.

- The floors are paper thin, if you live on the second floor, you will hear your downstairs neighbor?s TV at night. If he/she stays up late at night watching TV so do you, cause you won?t be able to sleep. I was a downstairs rsident I had to accomodate my neighbor by getting headphones so I could watch Letterman, and she could get some sleep. And no way could I ever play my stereo even at medium volume levels.

- The Heaters make a racket, no seriously ! it sounds like someone is taking a pipe to your heater. The maintenance staff will tell you they can?t do anything about it, but they tell you you?ll get used to it. Believe it or not you actually do get used to it. But if you move in during the winter expect your first few nights to be very sleepless.

- Don?t be more than a week late with the rent, you will get legal notices almost immediately, they have no tolerance for that, and they will charge you for any associated costs.

- Definitely Not a place for kids, there are no parks or playgrounds inside the complex or anywhere near the complex. In fact the only place with open space and grass anywhere in the place is occupied by a series of power line towers.

- You have no control over the heat, if you get an early spring the heat stays on and your apartment turns into an oven. Get an early winter and the heat stays off, your apartment turns into an icebox.

----------------------------------------- < good:

- The rent is very reasonable, and rent controlled.

- Its fairly safe, nice people. Lots of retirees live there, lots of one year and out rentals. The young folks who can afford better don?t stay around very long.

- Parking is good in most parts of the complex, but can get tight if more than a few tenants on your street have more than one car.

- The laundry rooms, are okay, and fairly close by for most residents.

- The place is safe, never had to worry about my car or my apartment being broken into, or any other criminal activity. Its in a good part of Clifton, and near the Pkwy and Rte-3.

- The sidewalks and steps are cleared quickly after it snows. But they leave it to the township to plow the streets so if you know its gonna snow put your car inside one of the lots. Never park in one of the culdesacs before a snow storm, you won?t be able to get your car out for at least 3 days. Park on a street, when the plow comes, your car will be buried.

- The maintenance staff does a pretty good job. the landscaping is done by a contractor. The place will never be beautiful, but it will look fairly decently maintained.

- The maintenance staff does a good job with bug, and pest control. You will get ants, etc occasionally, but they do a good job dealing with them quickly when they crop up.

- The Cable/Internet in the area is high speed. Because a lot of the retiree?s living in the area are not internet savvy there?s more bandwith for the rest of us. The internet service is rarely bogged down.

There actually is a park directly across the street where people run and walk their dogs.
