Cooper River Manor is great in the short term, and is in a nice neighborhood. While we always felt safe, my husband did have his car stolen right in front of our apartment. Collingswood is fantastic, but remember that it's very close to Camden and Pennsauken (where the car was recovered a year later). The negatives: 1. Landscaping was constant, yet there is not much grass. Our apartment was constantly full of mulch dust, and our porch was unusable because of all the dirt and debris from the yard work. 2. The kitchen is TINY. Almost pointless to have. The counter is so small that we couldn't fit a drying rack, let alone a coffee maker. We couldn't open the oven all the way because it hit the fridge. And cabinet space, forget it. If you plan on cooking at all, and like to keep food or cooking gear in your apartment, this might not be the place for you. 3. The bathroom was also extremely small. The sink is too tiny to say, balance your toothbrush on. And there weren't any towel racks. These things might seem small, but make a big difference in your daily life. I coped by using the toilet lid as a place to put my make-up, hair dryer, etc when getting ready. Not ideal! Overall, the bathroom was very old and dingy looking, very outdated with cracked tiles and horrible fixtures. 4. Closet space: NOT GOOD! Not even a bar to hang and slide your clothes on. I had to buy a wardrobe closet just to hang things.

That being said, the office staff was very nice, as were the maintenance guys. Our building was generally quiet, although if you had loud neighbors, you would definitely hear them. The shower was hot and had great pressure. The master bedroom was a good size, and was our guest room. A/C unit was okay. Definitely needed the aid of fans. The building is heated automatically, and the cost is already incorporated into your rent. They are not stingy with the heat; It is HOT. We kept the windows open all winter, which I guess is better than freezing.

I would recommend this complex for a year, and after you know Collingswood pretty well, you'll be aware of your other living options. There are tons of houses and duplexes for rent, for about the same price.
