I like this place

I've been living at this complex for a little over 2 years now. I definitely have not had the problems these other people have encountered. I recommend living here. I honestly think the other people leaving reviews are the "born to complain" types.
I pay my rent on time. This is the real world.
This is my first place so I don't have anything to compare it to except my friends' apartments. I like mine best though.
I have a 2-bedroom on the second floor. I live by myself. I pay around $850/month, which includes heat and hot water. Rent goes up about $25 a year. Most places will charge you for heat, or else your heat is electric. My only utility bill is roughly $50/month, for electricity and cooking gas.
They have a 2 month lease cycle, which is nice because one day I plan to move back to Philly and I won't have to wait a year for my lease to be up.
The size is decent, and I like the layout. I love the many windows--lots of natural light. They are a bit drafty but it's not hard to put plastic on the windows in the winter, if it bothers you that much. It doesn't bother me. The hardwood floors are pretty. They let you paint the walls, hang curtains and pictures etc. Most places will not let you paint at all. I think the color on my walls definitely gives this place a homey feel.
It's true about the heat. Sometimes it's really hot and I have to open windows in January. Other times it's freezing and I have to plug in my space heater and wear a sweatshirt. It's never absolutely unbearable. And hey, it's free.
Water pressure is great--I get absolutely the best strong, hot showers ever. I don't know what these other people are talking about.
Repairs are done within the week that you request them.
I have never, ever seen a roach in my apartment. No bugs at all. The laundry room--which is across the parking lot and in a cement basement--looks like a roachy-type place but I do my laundry at my mom's so it's never bothered me personally. If people have roaches in their apartments, maybe they should take the trash out more often'
The buildings are old and I do find I need repairs somewhat often. What the one lady said was true--you can't really plug in more than a few things at a time or you'll blow a circuit. This just happened to me last week. I had the tv, space heater, and vacuum going. Lights out!
It's not super fancy but it's nice and it's cozy. Plus I'm not trying to pay for "fancy." It's an old building. But everything works.
Parking is plentiful, except in the summer when every trashy/snobby Haddonfield resident brings their screaming, sloppy children to the public pool across the street. Then you might want to find something better to do on a Saturday--somewhere else.
Speaking of noise, this is probably the only serious complaint I have. I can hear my neighbor's tv. Not the people across the hall, but the person that lives below me. She keeps it pretty loud. It's really annoying. I've said things to management and to her directly. I've learned to live with it, and vow to save up enough money to buy a single home one day.
Last but not least, safety. This complex is in Haddonfield, which is among the richer, snootier areas in NJ. Homes just down the street are going for a cool mil. It's a pleasant jog, really. I've never been afraid for my safety, although once a female neighbor told me a man exposed himself to her while she was jogging at night. Also once there was some graffiti on my car. But then, rich drunk teenagers have to have something to do at night, right' Annoying, but I was able to scrape it off. I did not report it. Fire/police respond right away to anything. Good township to live in.

i agree with you. haddon hills is a great place to live. i've posted before that i've lived here for years and raised a family here too. i hear my neighbors children run up and down the steps and scream but they go to bed at a decent hour and it doenst bother me. after all they ARE children. the people who complain here will complain elswhere. the only drawback i can see for me personally is that i have to shlep the laundry and i'm not a young anymore. but you do what you have to do.. i also think the staff here are great...
