If you are trying to save money, this is the place to stay, but be careful because managment will try and screw you over if something wrong happens, even if it's not your fault. For example, my bank made an error and bounced one of my checks. Management forced me to pay the late fee on the rent, and required a note from the bank that they were at fault otherwise I'd have to pay rent with a money order (they would no longer accept personal checks from me otherwise). Management were such pricks about the whole thing. Maintenance is usually prompt, but I had issues with my air conditioner (it wouldn't cool the apt) and they wouldn't replace it. What use is an air conditioner if it doesn't cool' So I had to buy my own.
Neighbors looks kind of shady. Lots of minority people. No assigned parking, but I usually park in the same spot. Their fitness center is a joke. Laundry facilty is decent. Gate security is kind of a joke...lots of times the gates are opened with a note at the gate saying "be back in 10 minute". Location is great (gas station, restaurants, shopping all nearby). Heating is included.

Totally agree with you, I didn't feel safe at all in there. Dang kids were playing on the back of my truck, and ringing my doorbell whenever they saw my husband or I come in with groceries, wanting food.

Exact same thing happened to me with a check, when I switch banks and I was forced to pay late fees and money orders only to pay rent.
