Unconscionable Rent Increases
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 2/21/2003
Years at this apartment: 1994 - 2003
This place has had rent increases in excess of 17% (some over 20%) since Panco Management, LLC took over the complex in 2001. People have been leaving at unusual rates, mostly seniors on fixed incomes who can't afford to live here anymore. Under the old management company, Mack-Cali, there were never more than 6 to 8 vacant units at any given time. A recent count of vacancies shows 40 to 43 units empty today. There are several units rented to individuals who in turn, use the apartment as a dormatory style home, housing as many as 7 to 10 adult males in a 2 bedroom apartment. Sometimes, there are children and women added to the mix. What garbage. Stay away. You'll regret moving into this "Luxury Apartment Community." The rent required in my unit has gone from $1048.00 per month to $1350.00 in a 24 month period. This 32 year old complex is riddled with code violations, water leaks, and electrical problems. There is lead-based paint in literally every unit with no attempts to remove it. Contact the Tenby Chase Tenants Association at P.O. Box 945, Delran, NJ 08075 for complete details.
