I moved here in September 2007 and so far, I am very happy with the place! Before I moved in, they made many improvements to the apartment, such as refinishing the hardwood floors, replacing the cabinets, redoing the kitchen floor, fixing up the bathroom, repainting the walls and putting new doors throughout the apartment. They told me that as old tenants are moving out, they are redoing each apartment before new tenants move in. I found the management very helpful and VERY friendly.
I was surprised to read the most recent review but again, I have only been here for a short time and haven't had to really deal with the management other than the time I moved in. I AM having a problem with the bathroom wall though but not NEARLY as bad as the previous review described. I haven't called to get it repaired yet because it really isn't that bad....it just leaks a few drops once a week that I am aware of. I plan on calling this week and will update this review if I have a problem.
I rent a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment with a dining room for $1135 a month. The dining room is fairly large, enough to fit a family size dining room table and small bar. The cable outlets in the bedroom and living room are in odd places though, which required some creativity but is barely noticeable. There is a LOT of closet space, especially if you have an apartment on the 1st floor because you get the space under the stairway as closet storage.
Parking is GREAT. There are plenty of spaces and you don't have to worry about telling your visitors to park in specific spots or worry about them getting towed. There are no assigned parking spots and you don't have to pay extra for additional spots, like a lot of complexes require.
I've met really friendly tenants, including our upstairs neighbors who are quiet and pleasant. The second level apartment floors squeak a lot but that's the extent of the noise .... it's not bothersome at all.
My only previous dislike was the old windows, but those have all been replaced recently with really nice ones. The new windows require me get a smaller air-conditioning unit for the bedroom though to fit in the window now. The apartment already comes with an air conditioner unit in the living room wall, which runs very well. They replaced the unit cover with a new one when I moved in.
They allow you to paint the apartment walls as long as you agree to repaint all the walls to the original white color before you leave. If you don't, they'll charge you with the cost of repainting.
We have 1 cat and they don't charge pet rent.
The complex is located a mile from Rt. 46 and Rt. 80 and a few miles from Rt. 10 and Rt. 202. It is 1 mile from downtown Denville, 1/2 mile from beautiful Cedar Lake and 1 mile from beautiful Indian Lake.
My boyfriend and I are professionals who plan on staying here until we can afford to buy a place (unless I confront similar issues to the previous reviewer). Overall, I love it here, and when I was looking for apartments, I found that it was the most well-priced and best looking. I'm VERY happy here.
