Most apartments are well overdue for updating appliances, fixtures and countertops in kitchen and baths.
and a paint job.
Laundry facilities are old..
and dont wash properly and break often.
I have been a tenant for a bit more than 5 years, and really havent had any major issues.
Management is attentive, and will usually fix (or put a bandaid most times) on problems fairly quickly.
But the apartments are tired looking on the inside.
The other tenants in my building are pretty quiet, of course depending on the tenant I find single people are the best, couples and kids make the most noise especially if you live below them.
I have only a few gripes..They dont paint once you become a tenant.
I was told the apts are painted every three years, after 4 years I inquired and was told they DO NOT paint.
Its in your lease.
and sure enough there it was painting is your responsibility.
Mind you after more than 5 years..
it needs it..
but hey, I wont spring for painting someone elses property, I will move first.
That is wrong..Cmon the previous tenant was there for almost 10 years and it was NEVER painted..
yuck!! My guess is that there is such a turnover there they probably paint the units so often..except if you stay.
Other issue I find is that a few tenants get special treatment even if they are breaking lease rules..
Why' I havent a clue..
AFter telling management about some lease infractions (major) they look the other way, more than a few times..
One other issue is old windows..
very, very drafty especially the sliders..
like sitting in front of an open window..
have to cover up all windows with plastic.
Big rent payment..
little or no upkeep, big heating bill in winter.
Other than that..
nice area..

I strongly agree with this previous evaluation. I lived at Rustic Ridge from 1999 - 2007, 8 years mind you. The grounds are well kept and makes you feel like coming home, but the inside of the apartment is in dire need of a facelift. My kitchen cabinets were as old as the apartment complex when I moved in in '99 (about 20 some years) and the floors in the cabinets were already warped, so it was hard to have things stand upright. After much "deliberation" with management they finally, graciously installed new kitchen cabinets after more than 25 years! It was way overdue.
When things break inside of the apartment, they usually try to "bandaid" it instead of replacing. The windows don't close properly and you'll "enjoy" fresh air in the winter w/o opening them. There is also moisture inside of the windows, so don't bother washing them, they won't look clean anyway and lots of mildew inside of the apartment.
Management cuts certain people a break and occasionally looks the other and then comes down hard on others for minor issues.
All in all, I am glad to be out of there; it was time! Again, the grounds look very nice and appealing, BUT don't be fooled, the inside does not look half as good as the outside. They need to updated and while they are at it, how about updating management as well, with people who actually care about the tenants. That would be nice.
