Great Place!

I own my 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment -- 1100 square feet -- my mortgage and maintenance comes to about 1300.00/month which is the biggest bargain in Middlesex County, NJ. Here's other reasons I love it here: (1) if you're originally from New York City, as I was, you'll love it here because you don't need a car -- can you imagine' Walking distance to Kohls, Best Buy, Shoprite, Dunkin Donuts, restaurants, pizza places, everything!! (2) there is New York City and local (intra-state public buses in walking distance! Again, if you want to get somewhere, you don't have to use that damn car! (3) but if you do want to use the car, great access to major highways such as Route 287, the New Jersey Turnpike, the Garden State, and others.(4) public schools are designated blue ribbon -- this means the best you can get in the entire country, (5) you are 10 minutes by car, 1/2 hour by bus to New Brunswick, which has nice restaurants, the state theater, local theater, folk music and more; not to mention a great state university, Rutgers, and the intelligentsia. (6) the Courts complex itself is singularly great because it is multi=cultural in the best sense -- all races, creeds, religions, sexual orientation, ages, ethnicities, old ethnics, new immigrants, etc. live here and find a way to get along and even like each other. We even have resident eccentrics who walk around with colorful parrots on their shoulders. Sometimes I feel like I'm visiting Chelsea (an artistic neighborhood in Manhattan). (7) the Courts grounds are characterized by 2-story buildings interspersed in large grassy areas with flowerng trees and bunny rabbits and geese, filled with children (from all the races and ethnicities referenced above, playing with each other, riding scooters and bikes, playing ball, etc., -- all spontaneously without the contrived awful "play dates" of the suburbs which most in the suburbs must have due to the nature of the housing and and dominance of the car. (8) Again, I can't stress enough how great it is to live with real people -- singles, families, senior citizens, ---, straight, and everything in between -- who can afford to live here because the price is not exhorbitant and folks don't feel they have to live in huge mansions all alone with their technology to keep them company. This is a real neighborhood, where people communicate, shoot the bull, touch base, and care about their neighbors.
