I live here -- everything said here is true -- depends on your priorities

I have lived here for 4 years. Yes -- the laundry rooms flood after heavy rains; Yes -- snow removal needs improvement; Yes -- there is very little, highly inadequate guest parking. The fact is: it's not a high-tech, modern, beautifully manicured place.
But:
For the price, you get the biggest apartment size in all of New Jersey. I have 2 big bedroom, and 2 full baths, with a private terrace, pool and parking included, for less than $1300.00/month.
And this is a neighborhood known for its Blue Ribbon public schools, so if have kids, and I do, this is ideal. Speaking of kids -- and this is what I really like -- no other place in NJ (or anywhere else, I think, except center cities), can kids just run out of the house and find friends to play with (and completely integrated -- racially, religiously, economically), where you, as the parent, feel it's safe because you can see them from your terrace and they play in beautiful grassy areas interspersed between buildings, in a campus-like environment. Thus, no contrived play dates necesssary. Kids here have a sense of freedom and independence. In fact, people don't need a car here at all, since you can walk to shopping and public transportation. How's that in this day and age of high gas prices'
I think if you grew up in the surburbs or in a clean, organized, manicured neighborhood, with central air conditioning and every modern convenience, maybe the Courts is not for you. But I grew up in Queens, in the 1950's, with no air conditioning and fancy vacations and sloppy garbage cans on the street, and we had to make our own fun. This is the Courts. Here, you talk with neighbors, you put with inconveniences like flooding in the laundry room, and you watch the kids enjoy their childhood through their own creativity without being spoon-fed. That's the Courts.
