Fair Housing Complaint Filed Against the Property

I went to see the units before finding this site. I was told a 2bd-2ba unit would be available until the rental agent saw my mother and small daughter. I was then asked how many would be living in the apartment. When I said it would be for myself and my 3 children, I was told had I had a husband and two children they would rent to me. When I asked her what the difference in the four persons in my family as opposed to the four the property wanted to rent to, she again told me if I had a husband they would rent to me, and then walked away!
I have filed a formal complaint with Fair Housing. If the rental personnel isn't aware of the fair housing rules and discrimination laws of this country, they soon will be.
