We moved here from Virginia where the rent is pretty cheap. When we saw the rent of Wyndmoor, which was the cheapest we could find, we thought we were going to live in a luxury apartment. Oh, boy, were we wrong. When shall I begin' When we first moved here, and first saw our apartment, we were in disbelief that this was our apartment. We checked with the landlord, and sure enough, this was our apartment. When we came in, the carpet was dirty. We sat on bed sheets because we were afraid of sitting on the carpet. The hallway bathroom had a moldy linoleum floor and the shower tiles were moldy. The "master" bedroom was even worse: the shower door was covered with black-brown mold, the railing had thick black scum, the floor was moldy, the caulking as black and falling apartment, and window base was covered with mold (we haven't opened the window once). In fact, all the bedroom windows bases are covered with mold, and we haven't opened them yet. These apartments have been around for 35 years, and the windows haven't been replaced once. The balcony railing was rusted (we asked them to replace it, but they still haven't). The heating vents were broken. When they painted the walls, they also painted over the light switches, so at first they were hard to open (there were layers of paint on them). We reported all these things, but they only washed the carpet. The carpet still has off-white splotches. With repairs these guys are horrible. It takes them forever to fix anything. Soon after we moved in, the hallway bathroom light panels would fill up with yellow water with brown specs. It turns out that our neighbor's toilet was loose. We report this, but they only changed the light panel. This is still a continuous problem, and they still haven't found a solution. One time the hallway bathroom ceiling fell down. It took them about a week to fix this. One day the master bedroom shower stopped working. It took them three weeks to fix it; their reasoning is that since you have two showers, use the other one. When the upstairs neighbors bathroom leaked, water started to come out of the corner of the master bedroom wall; the stain is still there. (Some of this is recent, by the way). In the winter my room is cold, and in the summer it is hot. The only thing good about this place is that the library is walking distance away, and since it is in East Brunswick, the school district is excellent.
