My boyfriend grew up here. They have been at the apartment for 30 years now. The only reason why they haven't moved is because his mother "raised her family" here, and his father passed on while they lived there. But he tells me all about the maintenence staff's inattentiveness, the office's rudeness, etc. All the upgrades and things in his apartment, they paid for and did *themselves*. The place did used to be nice, it had a pool and everything and was well-kept. Now it's practically bankrupt. Now, there are constant problems with the pipes, sewage, garbage cleanup, parking (you park in the back, can't park in front anymore - everyday you and any guests walk in through your kitchen-doesn't seem like a big deal, but it makes a difference!), and the super is never around or on time. And they will enter your apartment when you aren't home, even when you ask them not to and wait as long as you can for them.
There was also a fire recently that took out half of one of the buildings, would you like to wake up at 4am to sirens and smoke'' This place is a hellhole, plain and simple. You have to think, maybe you're just looking for something for a year or two, but what if it becomes longer' You do NOT want to call this place "home" the way my boyfriend has to! Buy a forclosure property or something and let your money do something for *you* instead of the greedy, lazy bastards at this place! At the very least, don't rent here!
