The Absolute Worst

We have lived here for nearly 2 years and can not wait to get out. This is the worst place I have ever lived and would not recommend these apartments to anyone. First of all we can hear every noise our upstairs neighbor makes, it is so bad that when she has a cold you can hear her coughing upstairs. Whenever she walks across the apartment it seriously sounds as though she is going to come through the floor!!!Secondly because the apartments are so old there is only one boiler so when you take a shower if anyone else is taking one at the same time you will get either frozen or burnt or both. Maintenance's fix to this problem is to come and install some kind of gadget that causes the water to shut off altogether everytime it get's too hot. So you can either get burnt or have your shower turn off every couple of seconds which means it takes about 30 mins to take a 10 mins shower as you have to keep on shutting all the water off and then turn it back on again, very inconvenient!!! We ended up just dealing with getting burnt and took the gadget out.
But probably the worst thing about these apartments is the absolute lack of amenities, I mean they don't even have dishwashers. There are no playgrounds, no swimming pool you really don't get any value for money. My fiance and I are leaving the country in 4 months but can't even wait until then to move, we have decided we can't stand another summer there and are getting out as soon as we can find a new place. Please think long and hard before moving into this dump!!!

I totally agree. I've lived at Princeton Arms apartments for nearly two years also and the area is okay (relatively quiet on my side of the apartments) and I have never had a run in with crime (biggest plus). I was happy with my decision to move here until I realized, first and foremost, how inconsiderate the maintenance staff are. They come into your apartment 80% of the time without fair notice and then don't even leave a work order to say what they've done and if they're finished. I came home one day to foot prints in my bath tub (WTF?)and my things spread everywhere in the tub and over on the floor. Don't plan on making arrangements around their schedule without having a backup. There's also the issue of the washers and dryers in the community laundry rooms. People from neighboring buildings are not supposed to use the washers and dryers in other buildings but bet your lucky stars come Saturday and Sunday they'll be bombarding their laundry room and yours with washing for them and their eight family members. Does the management choose to add more washer and dryer units? No. Instead, one person dominates all the washers and dryers for a good length of time and if you're not aggressive you won't get in. Don't even get me started on the hot and cold water issue. I've learned to listen to the changes in water pressure when I'm taking a shower. Any change in the sound of water flow means you should duck and cover. It's either gonna be a hot blast or a cold blast. Bottom line - the area is nice but that quickly takes a backseat when you get to the reality of everyday life in these apartments. If you're willing do deal with the lack of a dishwasher, chaos in the laundry room, AC units designed in ancient Egypt, thin walls and lack of privacy...have at it!! Just a few more months and I'm out!!!

Your in princeton arms with no dishwasher?I have a new one.hmmm.the rest is right on.So many people live together in these apts.and they come and go at all hours oh,and the music don't get me started on that. My neighbors sleep with it on just loud enough to keep me and my kids awake and play it non stop all day!!!! Put your chain on if you have a work order cause ya never know when they will knock once and walk in...its so costly to move though, especially when you don't know if you'll be getting your security back or not.Not to mention switching schools is hard on the kids. Have you seen the list of things they charge you for?Like cleaning the oven and windows?
