Absolutely terrible - I'm moving out when my lease is up. Everything is cheap, except living there that is. The windows actually have air blowing through them, last month I had ice on the INSIDE of my windows. Everything is electric - expect a $200 to $250 electric bill during the winter. The local management is nice enough, just forgetful. Wallkill on the other hand, I can't decide if they are purposefully trying to rip us off, or there is just a monkey running their accounting department. Every month the bills they send out (you have to use them) come later and later - the 25th on average. Feburary's came on march 1st - perhaps trying to get some late fees' The only thing they know how to do is send their lawyer after you - a friend of mine got a summons from them because of an accounting snafu. Again, you don't want to live here. If you've actually read this far, and still don't believe me, well - let's talk mainanence...
The maintence is spotty - after a snow / rain storm they let 3 inches of slop in the walkways turn to ice - then (loudly) chipped it out 4 days later at 12:30 AM - yes, I said AM. After last year's big snow storm they took 48 hours to have so much as a guy with a shovel show up, they claimed they couldn't get anyone. Funny how after just 12 hours I checked the neighboring apartments and they were all shoveled out. That guy with the post saying that eatoncrest people are posting good reviews must be true - there's no way that anyone that has actually lived there could have anything better to say than that there's plenty of parking.

YOU ARE 100 PERCENT CORRECT. THIS PLACE IS A RIP-OFF. 92 DOLLAR LATE CHARGE AFTER THE 5TH OF THE MONTH, OUTRAGEIOUS, ALSO DRUG DEALERS LIVE HERE. THE ELECTRIC BILL WILL SET YOU BACK CLOSE TO 300 IN THE WINTER AND SUMMER AND THE GREEDY OWNERS SEND THEIR SHISTER LAWYERS ON YOU AT THE DROP OF A HAT. CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF THIS PLACE!

Lol...regarding the snow shoveling. They DON'T do it. Bottom line. When I lived there, the only reason we were shoveled out was because my neighbor was kind enough to do it! And I ran out with regular ole kitchen salt after I fell on the steps due to the ice build up you mentioned. Most of what I experienced there was ridiculous, I am glad to be out, and that's AFTER they tried billing me for three months I didn't live there and keeping my security. I ended up making a deal with the attorney that I wouldn't sue them for not giving back my deposit in the amount of time specified by NJ law if he cleared the ridiculous bill...good riddance!

Wish I saw this years ago. I put up with the nonsense 5 years. I kepe to myself. The township has sued them and won! The new management is WORSE. Even when they cash your check on time, they "lost" the money twice trying to extort the $93 late fee. I hit the roof and had proof from the bank when I threatened legal action they corrected the bill.
They chanegd laundry vendors with NO NOTICE and I had just put $20 on the laundry card. They also required a $5 deposit on the laundry card. That was money lost.
Their excuse for not maintaining the property for me was that I refuse to remove all furniture and belongings from the apartment. I have a physical disability and live alone. I can not lift a sofa, bookcases, TV and other major pieces of furniture by myself down the stairs.
If you call the department of health, the sleezy lawyers will work towards evicting the "problem tenant". Domestic violence in my court. Hear the bickering every night at around 2AM when the bars close. Kids lock themselve sup in the laundry room to get high and management won't chase them off. I called the police last summer and the management was questioned.
Found a gun in the bushes last month.
They enter your apartment to pick through your stuff and photograph personal belongings. It's creepy and wierd. The maintenance guys insist the property manager tells them they have to do it.
The maintenance guys get so disgusted, they never stay long.
I hit the lottery and finally have the cash to move out next week! They pay no utilities and you are paying electric in the common stairwells. They split it between upstairs/downstairs. I was out of the apartment for 3 weeks when they were doing roof/ceiling repairs (at my expense) in February 2006 after the water main broke in the attic. Their work crews ran up my electric to $500 and I wasn't even there. They left the windows open and the heat all the way up and I was liable because the bill was in my name.
