I just moved into Eatoncrest about 3 months ago. So far I have to say I am very happy here. After reading so many negative reviews on this site, I was a bit nervous. But I think a lot of those were grossly exaggerated, and some just plain false. First off, if you have the choice b/w upstairs or down, I would go with down. It's what I did, and I am so glad I made that decision. It is nice and convenient, with parking right outside your kitchen door. Yes, you can hear your upstairs neighbor walking around, but that's just gonna depend on who you have up there, and how many people. Just a couple more comments on some general areas...
Parking - plenty of parking spots. Only downside is that after it rains, some of the lots do not drain all that well.
Noise - totally depends on who you have around you. I am lucky and it's pretty quiet in my section. Occassional noise comin from the parking lot or whatever, but really very peaceful.
Grounds - Front courtyards very nice and scenic. Back parking lots are nothing special, but hey, they are parking lots.
Safety - Only been here for 3 months but so far seems like a really safe environment.
Maintenance - had to call once or twice and they were very friendly and helpful.
Inside - Spacious living room area. Everything else pretty standard. Thermostats kind of old fashioned compared to todays, take some getting used to. I had 2 of mine replaced when I first moved in cause they were not accurate.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Eatoncrest. I have lived here for 3 months in the winter, and I will tell you that the electric bills are high. I'm sure they won't be so bad in the spring. If you do not want to pay for utilities, try Lakeview apts. on Tinton Ave. Owned by same company. Anyway, that's all I can think of for now. If you are thinking of moving in and have any questions or want to know anything, feel free to email me at jzemla@comcast.net and I will help you out as best I can. AD2Hw9Wn8Umb3NN1w1jt

You got to be freaking kidding me,grossly exaggerated have you read better off in a zoo that's the ---- I have to put up with. You don't have a choice as to an upstairs or down and as far as the electric bill being high wait until summer unless you leave your windows open all day and everyone who walks by WILL look in. You think the lots don't drain well after in rains wait until the street floods and you to will see ducks swimming or people in a canoe going down the street. I hope you own a boat you will need it.

when you are in your 70's, upstairs is not an option. Walking across the floor is one thing but, stomping, screaming like the sissy he is , is unexceptable. The office does nothing to help the elderly live out the remainder of their years in peace. Who wants to hear the throes of --- sex all day or any sex for that matter? Either do it quietly or get a room somewhere. It's offensive and they do it for spite. Imagine having to go to bed in earplugs everynight. Gog forbid there is a fire. Who could hear the smoke detector? No, Eatoncrest is worse than a low income project.Enjoy your peace and quiet while you can. I guarentee it won't last.

I am considering moving here (1 bedroom). Just for an idea, what's your average monthly bill for electricity? I believe heating and cooking is electric?

Yes, heating and cooking is all electric. My first bill was like 250 but that was in the dead of winter. I was able to reduce my next bill to about 160 by making an effort to turn more lights off, etc.
