I really enjoyed living in Victoria Gardens, the companion to Wedgewood Gardens that shares management, pool, etc. I had no unacceptable problems, and those I did (such as squirrel in attic and broken air conditioner unit) were handled quickly and with only one and two calls, respectively. I did have a few problems with the pool not being open when it was supposed to be.





My neighbors were very quiet, and though they all kept to themselves, they were polite when our paths did cross. Very few children around, or at least it appeared that way. For a short time the dryers were eating coins nonstop, but that was taken care of after about three weeks and never happened again.





Has airconditioning unit in bedroom and living room, which was normally sufficient if the temperature wasnt above 90 for more than a few days. Heating (electric baseboard) was more than sufficient, and my electric bill was much less than I expected, so the insulation must be good.





A huge advantage of Victoria Gardens over many other places from a safety perspective is that every unit has its own locked entry door; there are no shared entries/passageways where criminals could lurk or take their time picking locks. All the front doors face right out at a parking lot.





The grounds were kept clean and grass cut, but there is no special gardening or anything. Very simple, perhaps a bit dull.





The local management under Charlotte was great, but I had a problem with the central office that posted an eviction notice when I was up-to-date with my rent. This caused a day of panic until I had a lawyer friend call the office, who immediately recognized their mistake and apologized. It was still embarrassing to have it posted on my door and caused an unproductive day at work.





The location right next to Redheads, a convenient store, a nice Italian restaurant, and easy access to Route 18 and the Parkway make this a real winner. The only issue with traffic is on a few weekends with Monmouth Racetrack, especially on Haskell day. Other than that, it is only 15 minutes to the beach .
