The river club looks like a nice community but there are a lot of problems that are not clear when you sign the lease or when you look at www.riverclubnj.com

1. They raise the rent by $300 after your first year and then $500 after your second year. It doesn't matter if you sign another lease or if you call 2019417300 to complain.
2. You have to pay the maintenance and repair people extra money if you want something done. Example. Our washing machine broke after 6 months that we complained that i wasn't working. I finally paid the maint guy $30 cash to get him to come out and fix it or else I would have to wait about 1 week.
3. The microwave oven that is built in and provided in the apartment stopped working. I had to pay $20 so he would consider replacing it.
4. Our car has been broken into 2 times in the garage under the Lighthouse Terrace building.
5. Kids run up and down the halls during the day and yell and screem.
6. The police and fire department come out here all the time at night for false fire alarms and other problems. AIMCO does not try to make this a safe place. They put up fence around the buildings but anyone can come in from the front or the back near the river. There is no security or patrol. My wife is scared to go out at night at the River Club New Jersey.
7. There are drug dealers that live in our building and at Castle Cove building.
8. At the River Club we have frequent power surges in the electrical system which has damaged my tv and computer.
9. The pool is always freezing cold even in the winter. When I sent a service request at http://www.riverclubnj.com/13/Edgewater-New-Jersey-Rentals/ to AIMCO's manager he came to my apartment the next day. In a very threatening tone he said that he was giong to remove the water heater permanently and that the pool would be a cold pool from now on. I felt very scared.
10. The construction is very poor. When our toilet over flowed the water leaked through the floor and to the neighbor's apartment downstairs. They won't fix it and said that we are responsible for the neighbor's damages.
11. The windows are drafty and it costs a fortune to heat the apartments. The River Club wont seal up the windows.
12. There is also the noise from cars on the River Road and from shipps that pass by in the night on the Hudson River. They honk their horns late at night and this wakes up alot of the people int the buildings. It is hard to get a good night's rest at the River Club in Edgewater and this has hurt my family and my job.
