I lived in this building from its inception in 1999 until early 2007. I know everything that there is to know about it. Having written that, STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!

When I first moved in, everything was beautiful. The management office was nice, the staff was even nicer, the grounds were well kept, the respect for its residents was unwavering. That all changed after only a year.

The building is nice looking on the outside, but while I was living there, the superintendent was absolutely allergic to work. I was told that he had an apartment there, but he was nothing more than a professional delegator, when he decided to show up for work at all. So, getting something fixed meant that you had to convince and cajole to the point of humiliation, and if the management office even bothered to acknowledge your existence, something might get done.

The previous reviewer was right. The management office would rather brag about all of the celebrities who live there and gossip about things that they learned by either illegally going into people's apartments and stealing stuff or by being told those things in confidence.

I, too, was told that my apartment had to be accessed, and the next thing I knew, all of my previous leases suddenly disappeared, and I was being taken to court for eviction even though I was fully paid up at the time that the complaint was filed.

I knew that I could win my case, but how was I going to get the management office and the gossipy concierges to stop talking behind my back to people who were my friends and business associates' Eventually, for my own sanity, I had to leave. For the building sake, this was all to get me out so that they could collect another $600 of rent on my apartment, which they currently do get.

The grounds are nice, the people are awful, and the overall environment is disgusting, from a horrible set of people who act as if the employees are the kings, and the residents are their assistants, and in every way, they are treated as such.

PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!

The review is correct....except it doesn't go far enough. The new management attempts to run the place like the Gestapo ran the concentration camps...they are arrogant, rude and condescending. Their leases read like a 15 count criminal indictment; virtually no rights for the tenants, penalties for everything, exhorbitant rents, hallways and elevators that stink from garlic, cooking and body odors...mainly attributed to the "Asian/Oriental" herd that has invaded the building....English is now a second language language. The staff think that the lobby is their clubroom and hang out there, playing loud music and yelling. It is disgusting!!!! Get out. Better yet, don't get in. Yukk!
