Thinking of Renting in Durham Woods - Think again

I've lived in Durham Woods for two years and here's why I wouldn't recommend it.
1. The staff are not professional at all, especially the office/reception staff and maintenance personel on the phone. They are arrogant and rude. At times it takes several calls just to get routine maintenance completed. When you call with an issue, they automatically assume that you either don't know whatever it is you are complaining about or that there are other more important things they should be doing. However, I must admit that the maintenance guys who actually do the work are usually very polite.
2. Do not rent on the top floors! The insulation is extrememly poor on these floors and you'll be paying through the nose for the heating/cooling.
3. It takes up to 2 days for the maintenance crew to clear the sidewalks/pathways when it snows. However, expect to be woken up at 7AM when they mow the lawn.

I totally agree with the anonymous writer. I am currently renting an appartment in Durham woods, it is pathetic. I have an apartment with loft ...bedroom is so cold can't use it no matter how much high you keep the heat. You pay through your nose and management is not at all helpful.
I will never recommend anyone to rent this appartment, it is so disappointing and painstaking to live in this kind of a habitat. I also agree with sannysmith - I got health and human services involved in this but to no avail - they don't find any codes of violation in the building or windows. Don't get v hopeful of help what you can do is vacate and spend more $$ in moving. Rather look for apartment which has heat included in rent - I repent leaving one of those kinds.
