We have been living here for more than an year, so I can list the problems with some authority:
1. Noise - Traffic noise from NJ Turnpike and Rt.1 are unforgiving. Forget relaxing on the deck or even opening windows.
2. Cheaply built - The insulation is very bad,so expect high energy bills summer and winter. Windows dont close well so there is always a wind tunnel!
3. Noise from your neighbours - If you have good hearing you can evesdrop across the wall without effort.
4. The traffic all around brings in a lot of dust. Asthma folks forget it!
5. Some security - And you DO see strangers walking around, cops do patrol twice or thrice a day and a private security car with fancy lights does showup now and then for a drive by.
6. Maintenance is fast on weekdays daytime but on nights, weekends and holidays its very
slow.
7. There is no DSL available in this area.
8. Heavy traffic on Rt.1 - intersection of Rt.1 and Forest Haven blvd is accident prone.
9. For going through all this you would think
that rent would be cheap, but NO WAY.
10. Public transportation is available in form of a very limited service shuttle(go to the edison city's official site for details). The metuchen train station is a 30 - 40 min walk. Mind you there is no sidewalk on Rt.1. Radio-dispatched taxis are available 24/7.
11. Inspite of my rants if you do decide to check out the place - just stand anywhere in the apt. complex and listen.
