The complex is more isolated than others in the immediate area, so you don't get as much traffic noise. The outside maintenance is kept up, the grounds are maintained, and the Central Jersey Canadian geese problem has been taken care of.

One thing good about this complex is that the rent includes heat, hot water, and cooking gas, a rarity now in this area. I've never had any problem getting repair work done, though there is a reluctance to upgrade kitchen appliances for current tennants. As the apartments empty, they are being remodeled and I heard that the rent is increased in those apartments. The complex is an older one, so be prepared for the usual problems of older buildings - cracks that appear, nails that pop out, minor plumbing problems, etc.

There seems to be a relatively constant turnover in apartments, but a lot of it seem to be couples who have started a family or who are buying their first home. The complex is quiet and the tennants seem to be respectful of one another. The parking lot isn't a place where people hang out, working on their cars and playing loud music.

My building is racially mixed and I've noticed that seems to be true for other buildings.

Bad points: Although they have repainted and recarpeted the interior hallways, the cleaning personnel do a slipshod job. The carpeting needs to be cleaned and vacuumed much more often, etc. The hardwood floors are not tight, so every step is heard. There is a thermostat on the baseboard heating, but in the winter time when it gets really really cold out, the heating isn't adequate. If you're in an apt that hasn't been remodeled, then your appliances are old and the kitchen cabinets are in poor shape. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk
