As others have said, the old lady who manages this place is extremely rude and effortlessly lies too all the time . THeres a freakin HOLE in my apartment (the A/C vent - apparently not all rooms need to have the unit!they have duct-taped it)

When I moved in 8 years ago, there was an old unit in my living room and no unit in bedroom -- just a neatly boarded up spot for a thru-the-wall unit. I went out and bought two new ones and have never regretted it. I know of at least one individual who was successful in having the complex install new units. First step is to ask the manager what can be done about the missing air conditioner. What is policy, etc. If they are unwilling to install one after being asked, THEN complain on this site. I'm not defending the actions of management. But since they are posting signs indicating that they have move-in specials, I'd ask if the missing air conditioner can be taken care of by management. Now seems to be the time to seek some cooperation from them. If you need a unit, try Derby Appliances on Route 27, right near the Highland Park border. They were the only ones I could find who carried the correct model thru-the wall unit (a regular window unit will not work properly in the thru-the-wall set-up. Good Luck. I guess next time we'll both be careful to get full details about the air-conditioning units before we sign a lease.
