Despite all the warnings about bedbugs and other insects , I moved into blueberry village on Nov 1st 2007 . By Nov 10th , we ( my wife,baby and me ) started getting eaten upon by bedbugs . The skin reaction wa particularly severe for my wife and kid. We called the maintenance hotline , but they never came . Even if they came I doubt if they could have done anything . The bedbugs forced all 3 of us to sleep on a full size futon in the living room . In another 2 days , the bugs had reached the futon as well . We decided that enough was enough and fled the apt overnight and moved to a temp sublease elsewhere . We didnt take any stuff with us to avoid taking the bugs with us.When we went to the apt a week later to collect some of our stuff , we noticed the house had been ransacked and most of the electronic goods has been taken . After fighting with the management , they admitted that their maintenance people thought that we had vacated and took everything . They promised to return everything , but when they did do so , they only returned some of the items whereas things like camcorder , portable dvd player etc , were not returned . A police report did not help . The Edison police are still to crack this case ( this is probably the most open and shut case ). I have dumped all my furniture , etc and was left with just my clothes for which i spent $500 to dryclean . Btw , another thing , if you have kids this is not the place for you . Every single step can be heard by the people below , so you will have to limit the freedom of your kid considerably.
Take my advice , dont be lured by the proximity to the train station .You might regret it for the end of your life.

I cannot sympathize more. I totally understand what you have been through. We went through the same hell. Our Blueberry apartment door was opened (while we were away for only 1 hour) and most of the valuables stolen. One of the police officer informed us that theft in Blueberry Village happens almost every week and they can never find the culprit since the station is so close by (apparently the culprits take the train and run away and they can go almost to any station and are never caught), And yes, there were bugs everywhere. First only in the bedroom and then to all the other places of the apartment. We had to leave behind our sofa, bed, computer table, dining table , pillows , bedsheets etc when we left the apartment. We lost a lot of money in the process. Not to mention - mental stress and agony. A total joke in the name of apartment - really! Go and stay there at your own risk.

wow.. and I thought that these were the best apartments to live in.. Currently I am living in Cloverleaf and have roaches in my apt. but its pretty safe otherwise and no problems with maintenance staff. But Edison village seems to be a worst case.Glad that I read these reviews. And the model apartment that I saw .. seemed like what a place ..wow!!

SUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKKSSSSSSS....its been just 2 months that I moved to Blueberry Village. We are 4 in the family but we are paying the rent for almost 1000 ppl (4 rest BED BUGS). I regret that I moved to this ***kin* apartment complex. Called the maintenance n number of times but didn't help much...don't know how can I go out from here...each day, each moment is depressive...I made a mistake that I bought new furniture and mattresses and now whenever I move out I can't take these stuff with me otherwise I would be carrying bed bugs along with all these...MY HUMBLE REQUEST WITH YOU TO NOT TO RENT AN APARTMENT HERE...PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
