Don't move in, especially to the first floor apartments, if you are planning to study. Even calm neighbors upstairs cause major disturbance. Not to mention the ones we had previously. Cheap construction really has it's consequences in this respect. Otherwise, no complaints for the price.

I moved into Millbrook as an 11 year old in 1979, with my dad Stanley taking a job as a superintendant.I left the place in February of 1999, at the age of 31.As an insider, I can safely say that there are more cons than there are pros. The Cons 1.The shoddy construction:I used to accompany my dad on DAILY bathroom tile jobs during 1985/86.At the time, the place was at MOST, 9 years old.The sound of neighbors blasting stereos, having sex, fighting, etc., became intolerable to me by the time 1997 rolled around.HAs anyone ever heard of soundproof construction? 2.The rents. In 1979, a two bedroom with a den went for about $350 a month. What are they nowadays, like $1500 or $1600 a year? 3.Security:There is none.I have seen HUNDREDS of cars over a 20 year period either get broken into, stolen or vandalized. There was even a murder in apt 336 in Building 10 by the pool in 1981 (Why the the hallways have had locks on the doors ever since). There have been rapes too. 4.Illegal alien groundspeople:As an insider, I know firsthand that those guys were illegals largely from the Dominican Republic. 5.The pool fees.I flat out refused to pay it because I never used it.I recommend that current residents do the same. 6.Maintenance: Especially when it snows.During one active winter, ice was not being dealt with enough. Both entrances to the complex are uphill, so as a result, dozens of tenants had to take the day off because the road had not been salted.I used up all my sick time as a result of this one year by the end of FEBRUARY!It also is hard when the crew barely speaks any English. PROS Large and spacious rooms (despite the fact that the sounds of sex and farts can be heard if you are unlucky enough to have a first floor unit).
