I lived at the Oak Tree Village apartment for one year. It was the worst place I lived at. There is not only one problem with this apartment, but many. Worst of all is the infestation of roaches and mice in the complex. They are everywhere. As soon as you turn the lights off, they all come out and when you turn the lights on, you can see them all run off into corners. It's disgusting. They are literally everywhere, in the refrigerator, closets, bathrooms, etc... I use to sleep with a can of raid next to my bed. Then there were the mice. They were just as bad. I use to have to throw out all my bags of food because the mice use to eat through everything. Of course when I complained to the management, they either ignore you or will tell you to get an exterminator. No matter how much you spray your apartment, it does no good. All the other apartments are just as infested.
Secondly, the management is careless and neglectful. They don't care one bit about the tenants. They will ignore all your complaints. They promise you everything before signing the lease.
Thirdly, the super is not trustworthy. He came to my apartment few times to fix the heat, window, and a leak in the bathroom. Each time he brought a different suspicious looking friend (not an employee of the complex) with him. A week later my apartment was broken into and all my valuables were gone. Police found no forced entry since the super had a key to my apartment.
The washer & dryer are electric so the electric bill is super high. Also, it takes two to three dryer runs to semi dry the clothes. Most people end up washing the clothes in the washer and line drying them in the balcony. Not very pretty looking.
I would never recommend living at Oaktree village. NEVER.
