Well I've read all the other reviews, and I must wonder if I've just been lucky, or if these other people just like to complain a lot. I've lived in a 2-bedroom here for almost 2 years now, and I've been satisfied, and so has my roommate. Regarding Lillian in the office, treat her with respect (something most NJ natives are incapable of) and she'll do the same for you. And as far as the area and type of apartment, it's one of the better deals around. Any of the neighboring complexes charge more and give less.

PROS:

washer/dryer IN UNIT, central ac/heat, master bedroom gets private shower and walk-in closet and personal balcony, very large living room balcony w/extra storage closet attached to it, speedy maintanence, 5-10 minutes to many major roads (1, 287, GSP, TPK) as well as train

CONS:

noise level (depending on neighbors), litter (a given in NJ), snow removal, and I do notice the smaller bedroom has a draft from outside

There are things you can do to work with such issues though. Have a draft' Buy thick curtains. Noisy neighbors' Approach them in a friendly and respectful manner, and they might just compromise with you (our downstairs neighbors did). Don't like a big heating bill' I bought a heater fan cuz electricity is cheaper than gas. And how about keeping the thermostat below 80 in the winter' Oh, and while you're at it, save on your PSE&G by not leaving lights, tvs, stereos, etc on when you're not in the room.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean for this to turn into a rant. But to hear people complain so much like in the other reviews, but then see how wasteful and dirty most people here live, it annoys the @#$! out of me. If you can't adjust (with such simple means) to the few issues here, then I suggest you either adjust your budget for a more luxury style apartment/condo, or else just look into buying a house.

No I don't work for Oxford Arms. Just because I don't complain about the place doesn't mean I'm in some scheme to make it look better than it is. You must remember that when reading these reviews you'll have the people that like to complain, the people that don't know better, the people in between, and all their past experiences and general outlook on life contributing to their reviews. Everything I stated is exactly what I've seen based on my particular apartment's location...maybe it's worse/better in other areas of the complex.

My screen isn't showing my previously listed pro and con list, so I don't know if it's been deleted somehow, but here's the basic gist of it: Cons = draft in smaller bedroom, noise level due to thin walls/floors, trash on grounds, snow removal; Pros = washer/dryer in unit, large balcony, quickly resolved maintanence requests, roach-free and minimal insect issues (at least for my unit), one of the better options in the area for its price range.

Look, I'm not saying it's the best quality...sure I'd like better. In fact, I'm planning on moving out at the end of my lease, but it's not because of the apartment itself, it's because I can't stand the trash left by children and weed smokers who like my cul-de-sac road. It's not the best, but it's definitely not the worst like so many people try to make it seem. I'm a pretty picky person and the fact that I've been able to live here for 3 years says something. But hey, if you think I'm part of management, fine. Come here yourself and look/ask around. If you prove my situation to be uniquely positive that's fine, but it's still true for me.

Hi We are planning to rent at Oxfod Arms soon. In one of the reviews I read about the large Electric Tower being very near and also the powerline running near the Tennis Court. How far are these Electric Towers and the powerline near the tennis court? Request an early reply. Thanks
