Be very leery of renting any apartment that faces directly toward I-287 or the quarry road entrance. The snow removal was horrible and be prepared to shovel your own way out in the mornings. I had several instances where leaks came from the upstairs apartment that were not resolved till I notified the management it was a a "gas leak" which they seem to be very sensistive about keeping quiet about. As a result of a past explosion in the Durham Woods complex in 1994, the smoke detectors are overly sensitive. Mine was even set off by the "ethnic cooking" of the "family" of 15 that lived above me. The parking is horrible as well and some cars do not move for months. If you have a garage, leave something in the way so no one else will park in front of it. The management staff deals with a lot of different people and has become immune to being even the slightest bit courteous until you make your presence known on a daily/weekly basis to get issues resolved. Be careful moving out as they will tack on frivolous charges for normal wear and tear and clean up even though the apartment needed cleaning when you moved in. Forget getting any sleep unless there is a blizzard and the trucks aren't rolling on 287. For the money, I would move anywhere else but there even with the new security booths that just keep your neighborhood criminals in the complex.
