I was checking out apartments in Elizabeth area and Imperial House had the best apartments (i looked at two 1 br apartments in the complex and both were beautiful with brand new appliances, partly carpeted and partly hardwood floors)

The elevator in the building seems kind of small and there is no management office in the building--there is a building manager but it seemed to me like he was more like the guy in charge of renovations/refurbishing the apartments (the guy who showed me around)

The apartments are located 5 blocks to the North Elizabeth stop on the NJ Transit Train and the commute is about 30 minutes to midtown

Just wanted to post this for anybody looking for a place. It's nice for the price you get and it's quite a steal!

I think studios go for $750 (dont quote me on this though) but the 1br I am taking costs $1000/month
