I like this place, my apartment could be bigger, but the location is excellent. Linden Arms is two buildings on Linden Avenue right next door to each other and set back from the street. Linden Avenue is mostly made up of one or two family homes. The back of the property is where the parking lot is and it faces several other unrelated buildings not managed by the same people as Linden Arms. Warinanco Park is right next-door and in view of most apartments, I think. It's like having a huge county park as a back yard. The place is fairly well maintained. The place is managed by Legow (see Legow.com) and it is my understanding that some properties not as taken care of as this one (see Chilton Towers reviews). Linden Arms falls under Elizabeth?s rent control law, so no big rent raises (more on that below).

Street noise is not too much of a problem. The proximity to the park has only one down side: sometimes you hear the geese at night and during the day on summer weekends you might get some noise from people playing music. Really not bad.

I believe that there is a waiting list for parking. More cars than spaces. If you get a space, it's fine. The lot could be better lit and sometimes people from unrelated buildings facing the back of the property park in your in space, but they get towed.

A while back the landlord tried to get a big increase in rent based on "improvements" to the building. Several tenants organized meetings and went to the rent control board; rent was raised slightly higher than normal, but much less than landlord claimed was for improvements.

I have not had problems with theft, but I think some others have. Management is responsive most of the time. Have not had a problem getting repairs done correctly. Snow gets shoveled quickly. Grounds and common areas usually very clean. Sometimes garbage piles up over weekend in basement receptacles causing an odor in the area, but it all gets taken care of on Monday. Washing machines and dryers usually clean and in good operating condition.

I have seen some small spiders sometimes, occasionally I have had ants, and I have seen some centipedes. However, there is no major infestation problem.

Overall, this is a pretty good place to live and I would recommend it.
