This is one of the worst places I have ever lived in. The place is called Fairmount Towers Luxury Apartments, but the word "luxury" has nothing to do with reality. The place is not well maintained, cleaned, there is always a ton of garbage bags right on the parking lot entrance that produce an awful smell that even travels to the apartments located in the upper floors, and looks terrible, like you live surrounded by garbage. The parking lot is used by local prostitutes that bring their customers at any time, day or night, and do all kinds of things inside their cars, and then leave their used condoms and used drug paraphernalia all over the place. The building doesn't have a living in superintendent , they provide an emergency beeper number to call in case of an emergency, but the few times I tried that, they never responded, or responded from another building owned by the same company, just to tell me that there was nothing they could do. The elevators brake down frequently, and sometimes takes days to have them repaired and working again, this is definitely not a friendly place to handicapped, older or people with health problems. The same goes to the hot water, heat and "central A/C unit", they constantly brake down and takes days for them to repair them. I can't tell you how many cold showers I have taken during winter time, how many times the heat has stopped working for days in the middle of the winter, how many times the a/c unit has broken down and they don't have the parts available to repair it. After reading this, you may wonder how all this happens without the local authorities getting involved, but the place is located in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where the local authorities leave a lot to be desired, and most of the people that lives in the building are black and ---------, I'm pretty sure that if the place was located in some other city, and white people lived in it, they would not be able to get away with so many violations. It's really a shame, because the building could be very good, but unfortunately it is not, so please look somewhere else, specially if you have kids, are older and/or have any health problems.
