Here is what's happened just in the past few months:
- can't find a super to respond to an emergency anymore. Good luck waiting for office hours.
- took 6 months to repair toilet / leak
- lowered rent to attract new tentants and increase rent to old tenants. Old tenants are now paying more than new tenants (with $99 deposit special). They rejected my request to a fair rent adjustment.
- turned down the water pressure which makes the water temperature unstable - 3rd degree burn one moment and freezing cold another when someone flushes the toilet in another unit.
- During morning hour everyone's using the shower, very often there is not enough hot water and you have to take a cold shower. The manager says that's normal while this has never happened in the past 5 years I've been here.
- super went around apartments to lock door knobs so that people will accidentally lock out when taking out trash or doing laundry. Easy $25 for them to make and there is no receipt.
- continue to delay turning on the central air since begining of May using all kinds of execuses because it's included in the rent. It's 85 degrees in the shaded apartments. State dept Landlord Tanent can not do anything about that.
- the property manager talks empty promises.
Know your rights and visit NJ Dept of Community Affairs - Landlord-Tenant Information Service. Call the State Bureau of Housing Inspection (609)633-6241 or local health department (908)820-4049 and file your complaints!

You are correct, now they are increasing the rent. The new people coming are paying less than the ones leaving here longer. Shame someone should report this.

What about the air conditioner the reason they gave us is not the truth, We have children and older people in this heat is inhumane they rent with central air but it does not work, this is an emergency they should have people working on it.

You are right they "supposedly" started working on it since beginning of May when there was a couple of 80 degree days. How's that they didn't discover the problem? The property manager is all talk. I have called the Landlord Tanent regarding this issue but since air conditioning is not considered "essential" they told me to call the local health department. What they are doing is not "illegal" per se, but we should continue to file complaints so more eyes are on these people. The local health department told me the last complaint about this property was last year! Get everyone you know to call (908)820-4049.
