I moved to Fairlawn in 2003 and was having a very difficult time finding a pet-friendly apartment for myself and small dog. I was thrilled to find an apartment at Fairlawn Commons (they have a few apartments that allow pets). The rent was high for me but it was clean and the management was very professional.
Some great features of the apartment that are difficult to find in the area are: Washer/dryer in unit, central air, convenient parking, and reasonably quiet. The superintendent is on-site and available if you have a problem.
I stayed at the apartment 3 years and never had one complaint about the management or the apartment. I did have one neighbor that was too loud for a short time but that was all. I think the professional management attracts good tenants. When I moved out due to job relocation I also received my deposit back promptly.
