The sample apartment is beautiful, and very deceiving. Upon move-in, we thought to ourselves, "This unit doesn't seem the same size as the sample". The carpet was old and merely shampooed (poorly shampooed). The stove and microwave were old and well-worn. The bathroom has no ventilation, so there is always new mold to clean up. When we made the property manager aware of the mold, we were told that it can be taken care of if we just clean it with bleach. No effort was made to correct the ventilation issue. Winter time is roasting time. Heat is not controlled within the unit so it's really hot unless the windows are opened. Speaking of which, a few years ago the old windows were replaced with poor quality single-pane vinyl windows which have ice buildup on the inside handles all winter. We too have had the raw sewage back-up in the bathroom sink at any time of day or night. The maintenance workers are likely unqualified to perform the work they do, since it is usually so poorly done. You will not get a parking spot if you get home after 6pm on a weeknight. And, even though they ask if you'd like a "non-smoking" apartment, that is absolutely no indication of whether your upstairs/downstairs neighbor will be a smoker. The noise level between apartments is ridiculous. Having an upstais neighbor with hardwood floors means that your sleep patterns are at their will. All in all, the only great thing about this complex is the surrounding area. Haddonfield, Barrington and Haddon Heights are beautiful places to raise children.
