I have lived at the Village for 4 years, and I have a pretty firm grasp on what its' all about. I'm single, live alone, and couldn't ask for a quieter place to live. Heck, I've thrown some parties for the Phillies and Eagles and never got any complaints (mostly due to the fact that I make friends with neighbors and invite them along).
There are lots of kids and cops that live in the complex, so I would say that it is a family community. I have friends and family that have lived in some real nasty complexes. So with that I'll chose to take some toys scattered on the lawn over having to worry about my car getting broken into.
I believe the apartments were built as an army barrack in the 50's. And just recently I moved into an upgraded unit, with new cabinetry, flooring, and a living room/kitchen wall cut-out and counter top. These improvements have really modernized the place.
As for the parking, I have inquired about that myself, and was informed that the main roads are township roads. If we want some lines painted to alleviate some frustrations, we'll have to take it up with The Boro of Barrington. Yes, the physical location is Barrington, which is next to a grade school, down the street from Tavistock's million dollar homes and golf course. The mailing address is Haddonfield, but I don't really know why this is an issue. The Village feels like a neighborhood to me, which is what you ultimately pay for here.
